A friend broke my other mechanical pocket watch when I loaned it to her, and I needed a watch for a costume, so I went ahead and bought this. It looks nice in the pictures, and if you look at it from 10 feet away, it's good enough, but it's made of the cheapest materials on earth. To top it off, the one I received was covered in oxidation on about 1/4 of the outer watch face. I didn't have time to return it and try again, so I just stuck with it, but I can't believe they're getting away with charging $40 for this piece of junk. My original pocket watch, of a similar design with superior materials, cost $15, and I could even read the time on it. The other problem with this watch, which isn't apparent on the face of it, is that it's rather difficult to see where the hands are pointing because they're such a big complex shape.
