Rayman's world kicks into multiplayer overdrive in this total-competition crash course featuring the cast of Rayman 2. Smoke the competition on mind-bending racecourses or spark up a lum-flinging firefight in the battle arena. Rayman Arena features eight playable characters, 24 maps, and up to four combatants. To win you must take risks, use tricks, and trip up opponents as you sprint, slide, climb, and helicopter through 12 courses in an all-out rush for the checkered flag. The game includes 12 gladiator-style arenas with frenzied firefighting, power-ups, traps, and special ammo. Compete using the PlayStation2 Multitap in intense four-player split-screen action. Players can unlock rewards such as bonus levels, additional modes, character skins, and extra characters.

In the Races, you will run, jump, and swing your way to the finish line while overcoming many obstacles on the way. In the Battles, you compete with other players in battles modes such as shooting weapons for KOs and capture the "flag".As you progress through the 1-Player mode, more features will be unlocked, such as new stages, new characters, and ways to alter the way characters look. In multi-player mode, you get to play with the characters you have found (5 original, 3 hidden) in the stages you have accessed (annoying for people who just play games for the multi-player modes). One of the things I didn't really care for in Rayman Arena is that in 1-Player mode, the challenges can get somewhat boring since the same challenges are in every stage. Also, the 1-Player mode is not very long. Let's put it this way: It's better to receive Rayman Arena as a gift than to buy it...
