5.0 out of 5 stars Swimmer's ear sufferer's dream, December 19, 2006

Yeah, I know. I'm not the coolest looking guy in the pool with one of these things around my head, but at least I'm in the pool.

For nearly all of my life, until recently, I've never felt comfortable in the water. This was primarily due to the fact that I've had troubles with my right ear since I was a tiny little kid. I avoided the pool like the plague. And the beach? Forget about it. Just a tiny bit of water in my ear and I was done. I'd feel sick, dizzy, and that feeling of water in your ear would last for a week. Infection was the usual end result. Worst case of swimmer's ear ever.

When I got into triathlons, I looked all over the place for something that would work. Silicon ear plugs (they always fell out when they got wet), rubber ear plugs (usually still let small amounts of water in - or worse, hit up against my ear drum!), among others.

Then I found the Ear Band-It. You'll still need some silicon ear plugs, but now they don't get as wet,... Read more

I previously used to get bored swimming laps and couldnt realise my full potential, Then I bought a waterproof casing to hold my nano while swimming, but the waterproof ear buds eventually flooded fell out and distorted the sounds to a point where it once again curtailed my swim. With the band-it headband the buds stay firmly in place and in fact I swim so far now I cramp and am forced to get out.

This headband is great as it does 2 things. It keeps my hair out of my face (I hate bathing caps) and it keeps my earplugs in. Stays on, feels comfortable, and doesn't look bad either! I just bought a second one so I have a backup.
