Also, the steel strings hurt my fingers.I didn't understand that there were three different guitar types - acoustic, electrical, and classical. I thought there was only acoustic and electric. This classical guitar is smaller to get your arms around, and the nylon strings are WAY easier on new fingers. This 3/4 one is perfect for my 8 year old. I imagine he will be ready for the full size around 10 or 11. I realized after I got it that it is too small for myself or 12 year old daughter. I ordered a full size one for her. Their fingers still hurt after a while, but not nearly as bad as with the steel strings. Using the Alfred children's guitar lesson book, they start using only the 3 nylon strings. By the time they start using the bottom 3 steel strings their fingers are a little toughened up. The strings got...
