Being full wood, it just looks nice - the color, and the construction feels very solid. The swivel option adds a bit to the stool if you need such a feature (which I didn't).The reason why I rated this 4, instead of 5 stars is the following: 1) The shipping is pretty rough with these stools. I found some bumps and buises on mine. Nothing worth returning, but chipped wood wasn't what I was hoping to get to when I opened this up. 2) The seat pad isn't as comfortable as it could be. You won't want to be sitting on this for hours at a time - but overall it's not bad for the money. The seat is very wide, though...fits the butt quite well. I'm unsure of if there are better stools for the price..but after hours of searching through Amazon, I was confident that these stools would be the best for the money. First of all they were delivered on time with no hastle. Then, they turned out to be one piece! No assembly, no cheep wood, no hastle. They are wonderful and quite sturdy, beautiful as well. We like them very much and they sat well in our kitchen and they fit well with my family room furniture.
