Palau opens the way for a new type of snorkelling and swimming fin. In actual fact, it has been designed for two specific needs. The first was to have a foot pocket that could easily adapt to at least three or four consecutive sizes so that the same fin could be used by all the members of a family, or by a group of friends or easily rented out in a diving centre or on a charter boat, without requiring an infinite number of sizes. The second need was that of guaranteeing extreme comfort and an easy fit even if this is a fin with a strap to be worn with bare feet. The result is a fin that is extraordinarily practical, that adapts to practically any foot and that allows for very quick fitting in any situation. The blade is made from a light yet responsive material that assures a kick that is fluid, effortless yet at the same time quite powerful. The strap has a strong ring on the upper part to allow reversal of the strap itself or to fix the fins to the body or the equipment.

I would categorize myself as a beginner snorkeler, though I have done extensive research/comparison on various individual pieces and sets.Mask: is designed to fit most face shapes and it features premium silicon. There is no comparison when looking at the masks sold in most stores. Going to a dive shop, you'll easily spend $40-50 on a mid-range mask alone. Higher-end masks approach $100 or more. Snorkel: very comfortable mouthpiece that appears to be replaceable. Going from a traditional snorkel to a dry snorkel is the difference between night and day. It makes the experience infinitely more pleasurable and care-free. While it's not perfect, it keeps all but a very small amount of water from entering the tube (which is easily cleared through the valve). Having been raised in coastal cities and on Polynesian islands, snorkeling was a family habit. These fins are the best I've ever put on my feet. The Dry Snorkel is also a design winner both for preventing water entering and quick/easy blow-out of water. The mask visibility rocks, though the seal around the nose and upper lip is challenging (which could be due to my perpetual "5-O'Clock" trimmed beard?). I almost ordered a new bag - from the same supplier - when placing the original order. Wished I had and will still need to as the bag supplied is very cheap. Overall, I would recommend this package to anyone (and to order a better bag separately). |
