As others have mentioned, the worst thing about the table is the plastic goal/scorekeeper combo. These are plastic "baskets" that are screwed onto each end of the table & are supposed to catch the puck when it goes through the goal. Problem is they are too shallow and the puck can't clear the goal slot - resulting in the puck simply getting stuck in the slot each time someone scores. These same baskets also have numbers printed on them for scorekeeping & you are supposed to attach a small pointer to each basket that slides back and forth. The plastic pointer pieces, however, are very hard to snap onto the goal baskets and one of them broke when I tried to put it on. Ultimately it didn't matter as we just removed the goal baskets completely. Now we have to keep track of the score ourselves but at least the puck clears the slot, making scoring a much more satisfying and less annoying process. Aside... Works perfectly. The only problem is that although my kids love air hockey when they see it in the arcades, this one sits dormant in our house. Maybe it's not big enough, or maybe I should've gotten one on legs so they can stand up and play it. For whatever reason they just don't seem to play it. No fault of the unit -- it performs just as it should. Maybe they'll take to it at some point, but I was hoping they'd be more excited and look to play it more than they do. |
